Das Wort Kitsune bedeutet im japanischen Fuchs. In der japanischen Mythologie ist der Fuchs ein sehr wandlungsfähiges Tier, das sich zwischen Natur und Mensch befindet.

Für die Künstlerin ist dies ein wichtiges Tiersymbol, das sich nicht nur in ihren Zeichnungen, sondern auch in ihren Skulpturen wiederfindet. Leiko Ikemura geht es dabei vor allem um die Wandlungsfähigkeit des Fuchses.

Bei dieser Edition dominieren die Farben Rot und Blau. Dabei wurde das Motiv über einen Inkjet Druck auf das Papier gebracht, anschliessend wurde jedes einzelne Blatt von der Künstlerin mit Farbpastell bearbeitet, womit jedes zu einem Unikat wird.

Kitsune means fox in Japanese. In Japanese mythology the fox is a transmutable creature, finding itself inbetween nature und human.
For the artist this is an important symbol, which is found not only in her drawings, but also in her sculptures. Leiko Ikemura‘s focus lies on the mutability of the fox.
The color red and blue dominates the edition. Printed Inkjet on paper, each print was individually colored with pastel by the artist, making each a unique copy.
